Emerging Leader Fellowship
This one-year fellowship is available to registered nurses who have at least two years of experience at UF Health Shands Hospital along with the passion to provide clinical leadership within our environment.
Advanced Leadership Development Fellowship
This one-year fellowship is designed for registered nurses with prior leadership experience or completion of the Emerging Leader Fellowship to provide an avenue for continued growth and development.
Professional Practice Recognition Program
The Professional Practice Recognition Program provides monetary recognition for bedside nurses who wish to advance their careers through demonstrated individual excellence.
Shared Governance
Our centralized and unit-based Shared Governance structures empower front line professional nursing staff to collectively impact their practice and patient outcomes. The governance model recognizes the clinical expertise and decision-making abilities of nurses and provides the opportunity for participation on policy-making councils.
Resource Roles
UF Health Shands Nursing recognizes the benefit of utilizing specially-trained resource nurses to provide unit-based leadership within a variety of clinical and administrative focus areas.
Tuition & Certification Support
We are committed to supporting and encouraging professional advancement of our nurses and have programs in place to remove the financial barriers of obtaining specialty board certification and advanced degrees.
